The rain and snow has ended and now drier air is slowly mixing down from aloft to sponsor a slow clearing trend into tonight. A stalled front will get pushed a little farther south tonight which will help to keep the weather dry through tomorrow morning. A flow off the ocean will begin tomorrow night and another wave of low pressure will approach and this combination will turn skies cloudy with more showers possible later tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night. The best chance for any rain will be south of I-80. Saturday is still looking mostly cloudy and cool with some brightening along with the chance for a shower. Warmer air will surge into town on Sunday and Monday.

The important thing is not to stop questioning.
Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955)

Early rain and snow (urghhhh) showers will give way to dry weather, clouds and some break of sun today as temps pop into the 50s. You want warmer, drier and sunnier weather right...?? Well the good stuff is coming...slowly. Tomorrow, a slim band of clouds and showers should skim by to our south, leaving our area with partly sunny skies with temps still in the 50s. Warmer air (70s) will be trying to bust through a dam of 50s this weekend. That process will produce a mostly cloudy Saturday, with the possibility of a passing shower/sprinkle with temps in the 50s to near 60 degrees. By Sunday and Monday, the DAM BREAKS.!!! We'll be popping into the 60s and 70s with partly sunny skies and that much needed Spring/Summer VIBE!!! That very vibe will be accompanied by a cold front that will be arriving later Monday with some scattered showers and t-storms.. But..don't let it stop you from pouring that patio furniture out on your deck!!! Pour away and keep questioning everything!!!...even the use of the word pouring in the previous sentences!!!

Snow was occurring out in western Pa this morning and as it moves east it's turning to rain and so an area of rain will be moving through our area this afternoon along a stalled front. In some higher elevations there may be some wet snow mixed in with the rain for a time. We will also have rain for a time tonight and the total amount will probably range from 3 to 6 tenths of an inch. More than likely we won't have any thunder with the rain. Temperatures tonight will stay above freezing and tomorrow will start out overcast with maybe a sprinkle or some drizzle. The front will sag a little farther south later tomorrow into Friday and so our chances for any more rain will diminish. There may even be some clearing. Weak damming of cool and cloudy air may occur here on Saturday then the front may get push through from the west on Sunday by a surge of very warm air. So Sunday is looking nicer than Saturday and much warmer with some sunshine.

Tom Clark

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.

Anna Quindlen (1953 - )

Enjoy the SUN, but enjoy it early today as it will fade away this afternoon as clouds increase!! Temps will still pop to near 50 degrees before the sun is taken away and showers invade after 3pm. Those light showers and drizzle will continue into tonight and MAYBE early tomorrow morning. Rainfall totals will be light....not a big deal! Tomorrow, clouds, sun peeps and temps in the mid 50s are all yours with, if anything, a passing shower. More rain and drizzle will be moving in this Friday. Some data suggests most of the rain will be along and south of I-80, with little or no rainfall across the northern tier throughout Friday. At this point, let's assume cloudy skies and some showery periods and drizzle with temps not far from 50 degrees for Friday. Warmer air will bust into your life this weekend!!! As the air masses converge and collide, clouds and a few showers may break out, but much of the time, especially by Sunday, will end up warmer, and much, much, more spring-like! Temps by Sunday and Monday may reach 70 degrees in parts of the area. A front will sweep through by later Monday, producing showers and T-storms...in classic spring fashion!!! It's time to live!! Be yourself!!

A deep trough is moving through our area this afternoon extending the rainfall a few more hours and changing it to wet snow in some area. Since 7am this morning the temperatures has dropped 20 degrees behind a cold front. Most areas have seen around a half inch of rain so far. The rain and snow will be ending by 3pm followed by clearing and we can expect sub freezing temperatures tomorrow morning with some sunshine. More showers will move in tomorrow afternoon with a chance for rain tomorrow night. A stalled front nearby later this week will promote the development of more April showers.

Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?

Rain, Thunderstorms and downpours early today will be tapering off as cooler air slides in from the west. A few wet flakes may end with the rain this afternoon, but mainly dry weather will cooperate with your afternoon-evening plans. Temps peaked earlier today and will continue to drop through the 40s....30s and eventually dip to the upper 20s tonight! Partly sunny skies will give way to more clouds and late day showers tomorrow with temps barely poking 50 degrees. Temps should hold in the 50s through Thursday and Friday, but with more steady rain moving in by Friday. Your Weekend??? You're wondering already??? Well, scattered showers will be forming both Saturday and Sunday, but with plenty of dry periods mixed in too, with more clouds than sun! BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, temps by Sunday and Monday will be poking into the 60s to near 70 degrees, with clouds, sun and scattered T-Storms! Spring is in the AIR. Go out on a limb, it's time to LIVE!!

Very warm air pushing into colder air this afternoon across Pennsylvania causing rain and thunderstorms over northern PA. These storms will dissipate early this afternoon. Most of our area will not see rain until later tonight when a cold front will closing in from the west. The front will arrive tomorrow morning at 7am and there may be rain behind the front for a time lasting until 10am tomorrow morning. There may be thunder overnight as well along with brief heavy downpours dumping up to an inch of rain in some spots. Colder air will be moving in during the day tomorrow with clearing later in the day.

To do anything in this world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in, and scramble through as well as we can.

Sydney Smith (1771 - 1845)

Showers last night were the result of WARMER air charging forward into your life!! What now? Clouds will give way to some sun breaks and nothing more than a passing shower as temps bust to near 60 degrees or better!!! Let the pigeons loooooooose! Tonight, a cold front will approach with more shower and even some thunderstorms while you sleep with temps staying in the 50s!!! Leave the window open!!! Rain/T-storms will continue early tomorrow..tapering off and ending by Noon! From there onward through Tuesday, temps will drop, skies will try and clear out a bit and perhaps even a flurry may drift across the northern tier by dark. Most of mid-week looks partly sunny and dry with temps near normal, in the 50s! A few passing showers may fall later Wednesday, but nothing steady until Friday when our next rain maker arrives. Part of the system responsible for Friday's rain, may get stuck over our area this weekend. It May prolong the showers into Saturday and even lead to more Rain on Sunday! Don't get too depressed here, there will also be plenty of warmth with temps well into the 50s and maybe 60s!!! Life has returned and WIINTER WEATHER IS DEAD ON DEPARTURE!!!! Life it up!

Light snow and light rain will continue through most of the afternoon today with 1" or less of additional accumulation in higher elevations and one tenth of an inch of rain or less in lower elevations. Dense fog will soon dissipate and the wind will remain light. Partial clearing will occur later this afternoon and tonight with only scattered flurries in the mountains. Enough dry air should mix in tomorrow for a partly sunny and breezy day then Sunday looks dry and still rather chilly under partly sunny skies. As a warmer air approaches, a period of wet snow could arrive Sunday night followed by rain on Monday. On Tuesday temperatures could reach 60 with showers and thunderstorms followed by colder weather on Wednesday.

Big Snow will Fall TODAY...OVER THE NEW ENGLAND STATES!!! Here in our viewing area we'll be blessed with just rain/snow showers amounting to an inch or so Today!!!! Whoooo Wooooo!!! A few spots in the elevations may get a bit more, but most roads will be just wet today and the snow a Non-Issue!! Happy April 1st....This weekend looks mainly dry with mainly cloudy skies on Saturday will a chilly wind and temps only in the 40s. Sunday should offer up more sun and temps getting closer to 50 degrees! Want it warmer? Well, a quarter continent of warm air is surging our way into next week!!! It will come with the price of rain (may start out as a brief mix early morn.) on Monday. Rain will taper off later Monday and by Tuesday we'll be poking into the 60s to near 70 degrees!!! Clouds, sun breaks and then thunderstorms and downpours will be forming later Tuesday..HELLO SPRING VIBES!!! T-storms will be pushed east as cooler air drains back in by Wednesday, but only briefly. We expect near normal temps, sunshine and plenty of Spring-Like weather into later next week. It's time to LIVE!!! Go experiment....Happy April!

The storm heading up the coast this afternoon will bring some rain and mostly snow into our area late this afternoon, overnight tonight and through the morning hours tomorrow. The heaviest snow will move through between 10pm and 4am with the highest accumulation being in elevations above 1200 feet. There I expect from 3" to 5" of snow. In lower elevation from 1" to 3" will accumulate and the roads will stay mostly wet. Only after midnight will roads become snow covered, especially in higher elevations. A small additional accumulation of snow will occur tomorrow morning and only in higher elevations will roads be slippery. The wind will remain light throughout the storm and dense fog will form in the mountains.

Feel the fear and do it anyway.
Susan Jeffers

Light rain/snow showers today will lead to....Nothing much! Yeah, wet roads and showery precipitation with temps in the 30s and 40s have you covered today. Tonight, it's a different story. A coastal storm will form to our east, trying its best to send back in our area SNOW. In the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Area expect 2 to 4 inches of wet snow , with even lesser amounts south and West. East into the Poconos and Northeastern counties over 6 inches of snow may fall through tonight and Friday morning!!! It'll be a fine line between "real" snow and just annoying Spring snow! Lingering flurries will give way to partial clearing into the weekend with temps stuck into the 40s..THAT'S IT!!! No, that's not it!! More mixed snow/ice/sleet may fall on Monday morning before the atmosphere warms back up to near 50 degrees with rain by the afternoon!!! Spring where have you gone my friend!!! Where? Where? Where? Where? Ohhhhh...In a week or two this will all be a vague bad memory as you sip a chilly drink from your outside deck while a cheeseburger cooks in the sun filled sky!!!! You know it!!!

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it.
Voltaire (1694 - 1778)

Snow, cold, annoying people, life's problems????...Think of them all as "ridiculous", and they're not so bad (see quote above)!! Today...Warmer, less wind and now popping into the 40s to near 50 degrees!! Still below average, but better. Sorry, by tonight and over the next few days, we go back to ridiculous! Yes, Thursday will offer up showery snow, cloudy skies and temps in the 40s. An inch or two of snow may accumulate tomorrow, but the roads will stay wet and travel should not be a problem! A major storm system should stay too far east of our area into Friday, but we'll stay in the cold, flurry ridden chunk of atmosphere through Saturday (April 1st) behind that storm! It's Ridiculous!!! Sunday looks like the better weekend day with temps in the 40s (still below norm) and the return of some sunshine! Next week looks warmer, but with more clouds and precipitation. A mix of snow/sleet will start out your Monday morning, but will be changing to rain for much of the day and again into Tuesday with temps closer to 50 degrees! No Sunny, 60 degrees day in sight....It's ridiculous, but only ridiculous!

Under a mix of clouds and sun this afternoon temperatures will remain well below normal along with a gusty wind. Sunshine tomorrow morning will give way to cloudy skies and there's a chance for a light snow here tomorrow night accumulating an inch or less. Another storm will move up the coast on Friday with a good chance for more snow here, perhaps enough to shovel and plow. But I also see a chance that this second storm will track far enough south and east to lessen the threat for significant snow fall here. In an event expect to see some snow here on Friday. Mostly cloudy and cold weather will continue through Saturday with light snow or just flurries during the day.

Tom Clark

There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.
Martha Graham (1894 - 1991)

Hey, a little warmer today with more sun (chilly wind), and yes, temps in the 40s!!....Only 10 degrees below normal as apposed to 15-20 like the last few days!! From here, we'll be watching two storms systems head our way. The first one will pass by to our south later tomorrow. It will be a partly sunny day with temps still in the 40s with clouds and snow showers into the night. Most of the showery snow/sleet should stay south of I-80 late tomorrow into early, early Thursday. By the afternoon on Thursday, we should go partly sunny and with temps still in the 40s! Friday is a whole different ball game baby!! A deep trough will help form a Coastal storm system that MAY be close enough to us to provide wind, rain, and SNOW for the area throughout the day on Friday into Saturday AM. Yes, WIND, RAIN and SNOW!!! WHAT?!?! CRAZY?!?! UNFAIR?!?!? SICK?!??! OFF THE HOOK??? YES, YES, YES. Things may still change, so let's hope for a slightly altered path that spares us of heavy precipitation. It will clear out as the weekend progresses, but there are no sunny days in the 50s and 60s in sight!!! It's the Spring without a Spring!!!! Stay positive!

Polar jet stream winds will continue to steer a zone of high pressure our way from Canada while all the warm air remains locked in place across the southern half of the U.S. A southern storm could bring some accumulating snow to southern Pa on Wednesday but not here. If we were to get anything at all from this storm it would be only a shower of snow and rain during the day. Later this week a deeper trough of low pressure will form in the east and therefore snow is possible here Thursday night and on Friday, possibly mixing with sleet and rain. An accumulation of a heavy wet snow is possible especially in higher elevations heading into Friday morning. Colder than normal temperatures will last through the coming weekend.

Everyone's is getting bitter and angry at the cold temps and lack of that Spring Vibe!!! Let's keep looking at the good side....The sun will be out today and tomorrow!!! The Sun feels great, but the chilly north winds and temps only in the 30s will try and zap your zest away...Don't let it! Tomorrow will be a bit warmer, back to the 40s with a mix of sun and clouds. It will cloud up on Wednesday and (stop reading if you're on the edge).....give way to some rain/snow showers later in the day..YEP, snow showers &%@@#$@#$%@#$%#$%^&*!!!! We'll be settling into another atmospheric funk later this week, with more below average temps, but with limited SUN?!?!?!? Yeah, from Thursday through Saturday expect temps at best in the 40s with mainly cloudy skies and perhaps even a few sprinkles and/or flurries. Temps SHOULD be getting back to the 50s by Sunday and early next week........Hey, enjoy the sun and don't let the chill get you down...You're better than that!

A clearing trend this afternoon will continue into tonight setting the stage for a very cold night and a good deal of sunshine tomorrow. The cold, dry air should hold ground into the weekend allowing for a good travel weather Saturday and even on Sunday since now it looks like an area of snow will remain to our south. Colder than normal temperatures will persist most of next week.

It can't get worse weather-wise...Can it?!??!?! It's time for some improvement! The snow is gone, but a chill will remain for a while. Today, skies will open up for some sunshine and temps stuck in the 30s to low 40s. Cold morning temps and dry weather will last right through the upcoming weekend. With a mix of sun and clouds temps will stay in the 30s right through Sunday...Normal high temps are in the low 50s!!!! Low 50s!!!!! Low 50s!!! We'll pop back into the 40s next week, but more precipitation will be moving back in by Wednesday. Although that storm system may spit out a little icy mix at the start, it looks like mainly rain into Wednesday! Now keep this in mind...Although temps will be a bit suppressed over the next few days, the sun is strong, the days are long and it'll feel much better with dry weather and your big weekend plans!!!...Make some! Time to live again!
